Science Technician – East London – ASAP start – Temp to perm opportunity

A secondary school in East London is looking for a science technician to join their team ASAP. This is a full time, term time only temporary role with the potential to lead into a permanent position. The role is paying between £11 - £14 per hour.

About the Role

The school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic science technician to provide support to the Senior Science Technician and teaching staff across Biology, Chemistry and Physics for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining laboratories to the highest order; ensuring chemicals and apparatus are stored and handled correctly, setting up for practical’s and demonstrations and providing in-class support.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant will have a degree in science. Previous experience in a school or lab based role will be highly regarded, but is not essential. The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of health and safety in the workplace including COSSH and CLEAPSS.
